BHP Billiton Foundations for Graduates Program 2010/2011 - Australia

Welcome to the first step in applying for a place on the BHP Billiton Foundations for Graduates Program. 

BHP Billiton’s award-winning, two-year Foundations for Graduates Program has been developed specifically for the needs of BHP Billiton graduates and is unmatched in the resources industry. For the second consecutive year (2008 and 2009), our Program was awarded the Australian Graduate Recruitment Industry Award for “Best Graduate Development Program”.  The Program will assist you in your transition from study to work as you experience many facets of the BHP Billiton business and gain a long-term perspective of your career and the places it will take you.

The BHP Billiton Foundations for Graduates Program seeks to complement your technical skills by developing your leadership capabilities, people skills and communication techniques, along with providing a forum for creating peer networks.  Throughout the Program, you will analyse and solve real business issues and develop your decision making and creative thinking abilities.  Critical management skills such as leading change, negotiating, building relationships and networking are just a few of the exciting elements you will experience.

BHP Billiton is looking for innovative and dynamic graduates in the following disciplines:

Engineering – Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Minerals Process, Mining and Petroleum.

Science – Chemistry, Environmental Science/Management, Geology, Metallurgy, Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy (NT location only), Surveying Science and Radiation (Physics – SA location only).

Business – Accounting/Finance, Commerce (Supply) and Human Resource Management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered, you must have either completed your undergraduate degree in 2009 or be due to complete by the end of 2010.  You must also be prepared to relocate within Australia, including to regional and/or remote areas.  We are only able to consider applications from Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia (including New Zealand Citizens).

HOW TO APPLY

Apply online from 1 January 2010 until Monday 12 April 2010.  Please note that you will need to upload your CV and Academic Record as part of the online application process.
