An opportunity is now available for a Manager Corporate Social Investments (CSI) & Transformation to join our Office of the Chairman in South Africa.  

Our vision is for long term sustainability of the SA businesses by becoming the benchmark resources company in Southern Africa.  Our mandate is to create an enabling framework and environment for BHP Billiton's southern Africa-based operations and position the Group brand in a unique, leadership space in the region.

Based in Johannesburg, the purpose of this exciting role is to ensure effective coordination and management of CSI and Transformation projects within BHP Billiton SA and thereby support to the Company's licence to operate.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

This opportunity will require you to;

• Conform with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton GLD's, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
• Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development

Working with a range of stakeholders including the Senior Manager Transformation, your responsibilities will include: 

• Acting as the project manager and coordinator for the identification and management of appropriate Corporate CSI project proposals
• Ensuring the effective use of approved budget and overall project success of allocated CSI projects;
• Maintaining and presenting appropriate performance reports to Community Development and other stakeholders
• Monitoring and coordinating BBBEE information as well as EE, SD, SEC, ED and MC, including BBBEE annual audits
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders of the Company.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Vital to this role is a team member who is tenacious as well as passionate about corporate social responsibility!

Your resume will need to display your strong project management and coordination capability – ideally developed within CSI projects.  Furthermore we are looking for you to have good presentation and written skills.

Experience or understanding of the principles of transformation management would be ideal.

An appropriate tertiary qualification (e.g. social sciences or law) is essential.
