IM Operations Analyst - FPU

MAIN PURPOSE

To provide support for desktop computing (PC hardware and software) and the IT/ Telecommunications and Network Infrastructure for the BHP Billiton Petroleum Searcy Office and field locations in the Fayetteville Shale, Arkansas.

This role is a member of the Fayetteville Production Unit (FPU) Information Management team and will provide support for both day to day operational activities and projects through various phases of the asset life-cycle.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Installing and configuring enterprise PCs and peripheral devices, in support of approximately 120 user environment.

•  Provide hardware and software troubleshooting support for PCs and peripherals.

•  Troubleshoot and resolve system issues through analytical and problem solving skills.

•  Support and maintain Windows PCs in a Windows Active Directory environment and Citrix users.

•  Support and maintain cell phones/blackberry devices and radio/handheld devices.

•  Monitor help desk ticketing systems to ensure end users requested are handled in a timely manner.

•  Asses support issues for needed escalation to systems or network group.

•  Monitor local system backups which are managed centrally

•  Support user local PBX voice and internet communications

•  Assist with inventory and asset tracking.

•  Monitor deployment of  patches and software upgrades as required.

•  Coordinate and actively participate in the implementation, upgrade and commissioning of telecommunication systems that are required to support the Production Units. 

•  Maintain documentation to IM standards as required.

•  Develop annual maintenance and system test plans, ensuring business continuity and safety critical equipment are tested in accordance with schedules.

•  Provide input to annual infrastructure plans and develop related infrastructure budgets for the assets operations, as well as input and development of specific infrastructure plans for project developments.  Ensure equipment refresh cycles and upgrades are included in plans.

•  Management of service providers, and contractors, including associated service contracts, support agreements in achieving the above.

•  Work with engineering support teams to support interfaces and network connectivity for Process Control, SCADA, and Telemetry systems.

•  Develop appropriate processes, including documenting procedures for problem service delivery, problem management and site documentation.

•  Observe and follow change control processes.  Ensure all changes are documented, technical documentation and drawings updated to reflect changes, and approvals obtained.

General

•  Adopt and promote the culture with team members of openness, communication, empowerment, trust, respect and teamwork.

•  Understand the IM Strategy & Systems Architecture, and contribute as part of the global IM team to develop capabilities and share learning's.

•  Project implementation and small project management skills on individual IM projects. 

o  Ensure continual monitoring of the program's progress to ensure that the program systems are working to achieve goals and objectives and program complies with the IM PMO (Project Management Office) standards..

o  Reporting - ensure the preparation of effective bi-weekly, monthly, annual and end of project reports as required by PMO. Work to ensure that all reports are accurate and comprehensive.

o  Capture and share the learning's from these projects.

•  Maintain and pursue a work plan, which allows key issues to be identified, addressed and documented in a safe, timely and technically thorough manner.

AUTHORITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the IM Manager FPU and provides support for US based Production Units –Fayetteville PU

Functional direction will also be provided by the IM Operations and Infrastructure Teams

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Technical :

•  Undergraduate qualifications in IT/Telecommunication, Information Systems or relevant area.

•  At least 5 years work experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.

•  Strong technical background with a proven track record in the design and implementation of PC LANs/ WAN.

•  Experience supporting Windows XP and Windows 7 PCs in a Windows Active Directory Network.

• Experience managing MS Security (Patch Management) and updates.

•  Knowledge of Citrix and Remote Access environments.

•  Knowledge of structured cabling systems, patching for both voice and data.

•  Understanding of VoIP concepts, PBX programming and management.

•  Familiar with operational IT and systems used in Oil and Gas such as PAGAS/CCTV/Access Control/GPS Location and Tracking.

•  Understanding of SCADA/control and telemetry systems used for Field Data Capture.

•  Knowledge of popular MS Windows PC software programs, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet Explorer.

•  Knowledge of IP networking protocols.

•  Working knowledge of data security standards and best practice infrastructure design. 

•  Knowledge of Help Desk/Call Management systems.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be based in Searcy. Travel will be required to field locations away from the local office base to support operational sites. 

Participate as a member of a global team may require conference calls to accommodate other time zones (outside of the normal business hours)
