Human Resources AdvisorBHP Billiton Iron Ore’s mining operations in the vast Pilbara region of WA are one of the largest in Australia, shipping over 100 Mtpa of iron ore. The heavy haulage rail system, the heaviest in the world, uses state of the art technology across all facets of the operation. Located on the coast, Port Hedland is the largest regional centre in the North West, close to Broome, Karratha and Karijini National Park. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established entertainment, sporting, shopping and medical facilities, and a strong sense of community. Position Synopsis We seek a team-spirited, customer-focused HR professional with substantial generalist human resources experience to provide human resources advice and support at our Port Hedland operations. As a key member of a high-performing HR team, you will be responsible for delivery of a broad range of HR services, and assist in the development and implementation of projects aligned to our business plan and strategies. You will play a key role in providing sound human resources advice and support in a range of human resource functions including change management, employee relations, performance management and discipline, remuneration, talent management, HRIS and organisational development. You will also assist in the mentoring and development of other team members. Skills and Experience As a member of the Human Resources team you will have substantial generalist human resources experience and demonstrate success in delivering professional support in a diversity of HR functions. Your background will testify to your ability to partner with the business to achieve win-win outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications will complement your HR generalist experience. Proactive, credible and influential, you relate well to people at all levels, communicating confidently to establish a good rapport with those you work with, thereby building close working relationships with the Iron Ore HR team and Line managers, in order to facilitate the delivery of efficient HR services. Your ability to multi-task, strong organisational skills and team-oriented mentality are all essential to success. Location This position is offered ideally on a Port Hedland residential basis however a Fly in Fly out roster will be considered for the right candidate.
