A member of the BHP Billiton Group, Nickel West is a fully integrated nickel business comprising mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia.

Leinster Nickel Operation is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with more than 1400 people and all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.

Think Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, this position involves working in a team environment to achieve high quality, customer focussed results, while ensuring compliance with mine safety and regulatory guidelines. The Mine Surveyor provides a complete range of surveying services to Leinster Nickel Operation.

Duties would include.

• Provide surveying services to the Perseverance Underground mine.
• Surface subsidence monitoring.
• Stockpile surveys.
• Engineering surveys.

Think Requirements

We’re looking for tertiary qualified professionals who can help to meet production targets in line with safety milestones. To be successful in this position you will have relevant working experience with exposure to underground mining.

Previous exposure to Surpac and Microstation or similar mining software packages is also highly regarded. Candidates will either need to possess a current Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate Grade 1 or be working towards achieving this qualification.
