Human Resources Practitioner

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent - Operations, an exciting opportunity within GEMCO has arisen for an innovative and results-oriented professional with a demonstrated passion for providing superior outcomes. 

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced, customer-focused HR Practitioner to join our HR team providing support to a broad cross-section of the functional business. You will provide the full range of generalist human resources support, with a focus on building capability in the business. In this role you will also be expected to provide leadership and support to members of the wider HR team.

Position Synopsis

Key accountabilities of the roles will include:

  • Building relationships to advise, guide and partner functional Managers in all aspects of day to day   HR matters;
  • Ensuring the implementation of HR people systems and standards;
  • Support and fulfilment of HR System requirements;
  • Development, implementation and maintenance and HR frameworks, policies and procedures;
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve HR service delivery; and
  • Delivery of HR projects. 

Skills and experience 

You will possess tertiary qualifications in a Human Resources or a related discipline, have a significant operational and generalist HR background and outstanding attention to detail. Knowledge of Best Practice HR processes and relevant HR legislation is essential. A strong customer service focus supported by a strong practical understanding of generalist HR principles will help you succeed in this role.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities, high performance, leadership, action orientation and trusted professional credibility will be critical for success in this role. You will be a team player and able to multi-task and deal with a broad range of issues on a day to day basis. A working knowledge of GSAP would be ideal.
