Think Place A member of the BHP Billiton Group, Nickel West is a fully integrated nickel business comprising mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia. Leinster Nickel Operation is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Nickel operations at Leinster include the Perseverance Underground Mine, Cliffs Nickel Mine and a nickel concentrator and dryer. The Cliffs Nickel Mine is an integral part Nickel West Leinster located 12 kilometres south of the Mt Keith Operation. Cliffs is a narrow vein nickel/cobalt deposit and is an underground mining operation. As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Leinster is a smoke free operation. Think Opportunity We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior HSEC Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) department. The HSEC department assists NLN-Cliff in achieving its business objectives by providing support in the areas of Safety, Environment, Health, Emergency Response and Community. Think Purpose The purpose of the Senior HSEC Advisor is to assist the NLN-Cliffs HSEC team in the implementation and integration of the NLN HSEC Management System for all NLN business processes. Responsibilities will include timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and hazards, contribute to the improved safety performance by coordinating the identification, development and implementation of safety management initiatives, policies and procedures, delivery of appropriate safety related training, participation in significant incident investigations and various weekly and monthly reports on site safety. Think Requirements Candidates will have a minimum 5 years experience within the mining industry demonstrating strong career progression within the Health & Safety field. To be successful in this role you will need to have previous experience with Safety Management Systems and have a thorough understanding of WA mining safety legislation. You will be computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills and hold a formal OHS qualification (Diploma or Degree).
