A member of the BHP Billiton Group, Nickel West is a fully integrated nickel business comprising mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia.

Leinster Nickel Operation is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. 

Nickel operations at Leinster include the Perseverance Underground Mine, Cliffs Nickel Mine and a nickel concentrator and dryer.

The Cliffs Nickel Mine is an integral part of the Leinster Nickel Operation, located 12 kilometres south of the Mt Keith Operation. Cliffs is a narrow vein nickel/cobalt deposit and is an underground mining operation.

Think Purpose

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor the Electrical Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance and electrical installation’s of all electrical equipment within Fixed Plant (30%) and underground Mine (70%), working with the highest priority to safety at all time and in doing so, supporting Cliffs Nickel Operation by being industry leaders in maintenance.

Think Requirements

We are seeking applications from safety orientated, suitably experienced and posseing a WA Electrician’s Licence with strong knowledge of Underground Mine power reticulation.  Candidates with a HV switching ticket will be highly regarded. 

You will also have experience working with Remote operated loaders, Atlas Production Drill Rigs, Tamrock Drill rigs and knowledge of underground leakyfeeder radio system.

Good communication, problem solving and computer literacy are a must and you must be able to demonstrate a strong orientation to safe work practices.  You will also have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Candidates possessing a Senior First Aid, Forklift and EWP Ticket, “A” Class WA Drivers Licence and Police Clearance are essential.

Cliffs Nickel Operation has a clean shaven policy and is a non smoking operation.
