Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the major objective of this position is to provide leadership to a team of operators to achieve the area business goals of improved safety and environmental performance, increased sustainable production and development of our people, while reducing costs through continuous improvement.

The primary accountability of this position is to ensure the safe operation of the process and equipment in the area. This is done through effective communication with all team members, continuous monitoring and improvement of the operating parameters, and prioritisation and coordination of break down activities. Furthermore, the role is accountable for managing the effectiveness of each team member by assessing individual performance and skills, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing personal development plans. With our commitment to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, we are looking for a highly motivated leader with the ability to lead the team’s continuous improvement program through the use of KPI’s and the development and implementation of improvement ideas.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to safety, very good interpersonal skills, excellent diagnostic and decision-making skills, and the courage to lead change. Qualifications in Frontline Management and Process Plant Operations will be highly regarded.
