Manager Communications  (Minerals Australia: Job share) - PERTH

An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists for a Manager Communications (Minerals Australia) to join the Asset and Function Communications team for a 12 month fixed term contract (job share either 4 or 4.5 days per week).

This role reports to the Head of Asset and Function Communications, with a dotted line to the Head of Corporate Affairs. The role is responsible for leading the Minerals Australia communications team, developing practical and effective communications strategies, issues management and works closely with Asset Presidents and local leadership teams. The role will place great emphasis on delivering clear, aligned communications, primarily for the Company priority areas of safety, productivity and culture.

 

Core Accountabilities;

  • Leads the implementation and monitors effectiveness of integrated communications
  • Leads, coaches and mentors team members to support communications objectives
  • Oversees both general and issues management communication activities and messaging more broadly
  • Provides strategic integrated media and communications advice to senior stakeholders
  • Develops and engages with global communications teams on AFCT team priorities

 

Experience & Technical Competencies required;

  • Extensive resource or energy experience in Communications, with exposure to and understanding of Asset based issues
  • Previous experience in managing a team within a matrix organization preferable
  • Experience in the development and execution of integrated communications strategies
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels, and work closely with local teams to achieve measurable results
  • Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically
  • High attention to detail, be comfortable working autonomously, stay calm under pressure while juggling multiple tasks and deadlines, manage periods of ambiguity with ease, and positively put constructive feedback into practice.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.
