About the role
As the Supervisor Production Overburden you will get to work in the largest pit in the Hunter Valley and lead a team of Production Operators in executing the mine plan, achieving safe and optimal outcomes for the overburden team. Using some of the biggest equipment around including 600 Tonne class excavators and a fleet of Liebherr 282 trucks, you will also carry out statutory inspections relating to compliance & procedures, and you will be actively involved in field leadership activities.
Located in the lifestyle friendly Hunter Valley region working a 4 panel rotational roster, this opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys a challenge, loves to be around the largest equipment in a great operation and has some experience in a people leadership capacity.
You must hold a current NSW OCE qualification. Your strong desire to work with your team to ensure they are delivering their best will see you well placed for success. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must allowing you to build relationships across the team with other OCE’s and departments.
Reporting to the Superintendent Production Overburden, in addition to holding a current NSW OCE qualification, you will also have:
- A background in leading a large team on a frontline supervisory capacity;
- Sound MS Office skills;
- The collaboration skills to work across various stakeholders to ensure overburden activities are performed in line with the mine plan.
Your ability to communicate, engage and build trust with your reports and be a champion for change will help you deliver on your commitments and will position you well for future career opportunities.
