About the Opportunity

  • The management and governance of Datacentres, Computer rooms and all hosting facilities;
  • Provides support and guidance in maintaining Datacentre policy, process and procedures;
  • Develops/maintains technology standards and processes for Datacentres;
  • Engage with relevant outsourced vendors and services companies as directed by the Manager;
  • Provides input into the financial budget and targets for facilities lifecycle refresh and optimise costs;
  • Responsible for the execution of safe systems of work, utilising existing work management processes;
  • Responsible for the safe execution of incidents, as escalated by operations and maintenance activities that reduce failure rates (MTBF) and downtime of IT/OT equipment across BHP;
  • Executes SAP Work Management and Service Management operational processes to drive consistent service delivery for the entire scope of accountabilities; and
  • Manages ongoing technology delivery to service level agreements from projects to application and asset owners.
  • Liaise with 3rd party facility service providers to ensure that SLAs are met
  • Engage with all Technology and asset stakeholders to provide input into the Technology facilities policies & standards, and ensure these are adhered.
  • Drive for continuous improvement by optimising and automating processes endeavor
  • Produce appropriate metrics and reports to measure the performance of the Technology facilities
  • Develop service catalogue offerings for Technology facilities
  • Manage and maintain Technology facilities configuration items in Service Now
  • Manage and maintenance the Technology facilities DCIM tools
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP standards, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership to promote a culture of zero harm
  • Ensure compliance with safe systems of work, HSE systems and processes

About you

  • A minimum of 5 or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor´s degree in either Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related discipline
  • Industry certification in Electrical, Mechanical or Datacentre Management disciplines
  • ITIL Certification preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in managing enterprise Datacentres and hosting facilities
  • Experience in critical cooling solutions
  • Experience in critical power systems i.e UPS systems, emergency generators, protective relays,
  • Experience with modular/prefabricated Datacentres
  • Experience with DCIM tools
  • Exposure/experience in Safety ideally in the Mining or the Resources Industry
  • Previous experience in operational support of mission critical services in large scale environments, preferably mining/resources
  • Native Spanish and advanced English are essential

To be successful you will need to have a Technical Bachelor´s Degree (STEM); which is mandatory for these roles.
