About the role

We are currently seeking innovative Health Specialists to join our Health, Safety and Environment Department for a range of 6-12 month assignments. In these roles, you will be accountable for assisting the Mine Site team and other BMA Mine Site Operations in the Central Qld region. Reporting to the Superintendent HSE, this role will see you utilise your excellent relationship building and people skills to deliver a wide range of health services and initiatives. This is a great opportunity to hone your health advisory skills as you gain exposure to a variety of HSEC activities.

In this role you will:

  • Manage work and non-work related injuries and illness cases
  • Provide expertise to health related promotions and initiatives
  • Create individual management plans
  • Assist with contract management of paramedics, physiotherapists and hygienists
  • Exposure to other sub-functional aspects of the department (eg – Environment, Safety)

You will also have access to a supportive and results-oriented leadership team.

About you

You will have Tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology preferred). This will be coupled with a sound knowledge of Queensland Coal Mining Health legislation.

You will be a strong communicator, influencer and advocate capable of coaching and supporting to drive positive health and wellbeing outcomes for BHP’s operations and people.

Previous experience in a large, structured organisation (preferably mining and minerals) is desirable.
