About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Next Generation Development, within the Digital Strategy team you duties will include:

  • Responsibility for the design and build of innovative solutions to solve industrial decision automation. Working across a range of technology development areas such as server-side development, cutting-edge areas of machine learning and IoT, mobility (iOS & Android)
  • Working as part of cross-functional Agile teams, alongside UX, Data and Hardware roles
  • Become a founding member of the software engineering tribe you will be involved in the way we ship code, the frameworks we use and mentoring others to think differently when problem solving
  • Continuously solving complex programming problems in a clean and test-driven way

 As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Proficient in distributed systems architectures and implementation
  • Proficient knowledge of one or some of the following languages Python, Java, C#, Go, Server-side JavaScript (Node.js)
  • Unit and end-to-end testing, design, creation and automation
  • Experience with Cloud Services
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Experience building micro-service based architecture and solutions
  • Experience in industrial control and supervision applications is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
