About the Opportunity
Reporting to Lead Threat & Vulnerability Management, you will support the identification, prioritization and eradication of vulnerabilities in systems and networks of BHP Billiton. On a day to day basis, you will assess patch related security risk for prioritization, run vulnerability scans using security tools, participate in security related projects, be the go-to-person on latest security trending (vulnerability updates, technical expertise on scanning etc.) and keep track of outstanding remediation for reporting purposes (i.e. performance metrics).
Furthermore this role includes applying your analytical, reasoning & specialized technical security expertise to investigate, isolate and track network and security vulnerabilities, identify and classify weakness and potential issues, filter out false-positives, aggregate vulnerabilities across assets to assign the appropriate priority and risk level.
The successful candidate will have a degree in computer science in related discipline and extensive hands-on experience working in information security in a large enterprise, especially in a vulnerability analysis or penetration testing role. Your knowledge of attacks, threats, malware, network and computer forensics, a broad range of skills in network technologies (routing & switching, OSPF, BGP) and general security architecture/infrastructure exposure will help you be effective and solidify your ability to execute in this role.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have a strong capability in Cyber analytics for information security, Vulnerability and Patch Management (Burp scanner, Rapid 7 pro, Qualys, HP Fortify), Firewall, Anti-Virus, etc.
You have a detailed understanding of attacker tactics, techniques and procedures and a passion for discovering and implementing methodology for detecting related attacks. This is an outstanding role for someone who is self-driven, has a strong communication skills and passionate about their area of expertise. You want to continue to grow, are flexible and open to pursue a security related certification like CISSP.
